Lladró intoduces a sculpture of Lord Shiva, one of the three major deities of Hinduism, the Hindu God patron of yoga, meditation and the arts. He is considered by Shivaism as the Supreme God. Depicted in His most benevolent pose, Lord Shiva is portrayed with three eyes, one of which, in the middle of His forehead, is known as the Eye of Wisdom. It is this eye that sees beyond the visible, also usually associated with the wild energy that destroys sin and criminals. His skin is of a blue-greyish hue because He covers his body with the ashes of life and death and also to stress that death is the final reality of life.
Lord Shiva is one of the five primary forms of God in the Smarta tradition, the Creator, the Preserver, the Transformer, and the Destroyer
